The Vermont Country Store in Rockingham, VT, is famous for its covered “Kissing Bridge”. The name comes from an old tradition from the horse-and-buggy days, when boys and girls would meet in the quiet covered bridges to kiss. People used to call all covered bridges “kissing bridges”.

The Brown Covered Bridge is a wooden covered bridge in Shrewsbury, Vermont. Located in the northwestern part of the town, it carries Upper Cold River Road over the Cold River. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 2011 due to damage from Hurricane Irene and reopened as a National Historic Site on July 5, 2016.
The original Taftsville Covered Bridge was destroyed by Hurricane Irene (2011). It was replaced in September 2013.
The Taftsville Bridge, built in 1836 and one of the oldest covered bridges in Vermont, carries River Road over Ottauquechee River. Two-span multiple kingpost truss with an arch; 189 feet long; spans are 89 and 100 feet.

The West Dummerston Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge spanning the West River in Dummerston, Vermont, between Vermont Route 30 and Camp Arden Road. Built in 1872, it is at 280 feet the longest covered bridge entirely within the state of Vermont.

The Lincoln Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge, just south of U.S. Route 4 in West Woodstock, Vermont. Built in 1877, it is one of the only known examples of a wooden Pratt truss bridge in the United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The original Quechee Covered Bridge was actually a steel bridge, constructed in 1970 as a 70 foot span over the Ottauquechee River in Quechee VT. Great waterfall and swimming hole is still a locals favorite. This bridge is a two-lane bridge complete with a pedestrian walkway alongside.

Likely the most photographed bridge in Woodstock, the 139-foot-long Middle Covered Bridge is a breathtaking sight to behold no matter the season. Pause on this town lattice truss structure in the height of summer for a break from the heat. Stand back in spring or fall for a show of brilliant color in view of its old wooden walls or admire the Mt Tom star shining bright above the bridge’s snow-crusted roof in winter.
